Be able to label a diagram of an ear.
Be able to explain how we hear.
Be able to explain the following words: Pitch, frequency, sound waves, conductor, and insulator.
Be able to name an invention that involves sound and explain what it does.
Be able to give an example of sound safety.
Grade Four Musical Instrument Assignment
You need to create or make a musical instrument.
Part 1 5 marks
Criteria:
- Must make at least 2 different notes or sounds
- Must be hand held
- Must be sturdy (won't fall apart)
- Must be aesthetically pleasing
Part 2 5 marks
Draw a picture of your instrument on the planning sheet. Use the lines on the bottom to describe the steps you took to make your instrument.
Part 3 5 marks
On the back of your planning sheet or on a separate piece of paper, describe how your instrument makes sound. Explain how your instrument changes pitch. (What happens that causes the sound to change?) You will need this information to present your instrument to the class.
