Olympic Opening Ceremony Response
From begining to end, this amazing video captured the heats of many canadians with all the amazing cultrual dancing of diffrent tribes, showing spirit, and how they portraid the diffrent seasons.
When all the tribes were working together to perform a dance, it was spectacular!!! They looked so happy and alive! The dances were so amazing bringing out love, sadness and many more amazing emotions just shown in those dances!
The lights with the show was also a great touch! it made many things seem real, alive, and helped portray a great story to show seasons and cultural beliefs!
Even though i have yet to watch the whole thing, i know, its going to be amazing, and even if i will never beable bo watch the whole video, i know many people have been touched by this stunning, cultural video.♥
Alexandre Bilodeau Freestyle Mogul Skier
On February 14th, 2010, Alexandre Bilodeau created a moment that Canada will never forget. Alex was in the men's mogul freestyle skiing cometition. The young Canadian athlete was up against two time champion, Dale Begg Smith, who was on the australian team. Dale got a score of 26.58. Alex knew he would have to stay focused and try hard, if he wanted a chance to win. Alex skied the fastest he could, he stay controlled on the moguls, and had great height and distance on his jumps. Alex scored 26.75, with that he was in first and would be taking home a gold! Bryon Wilson, from the U.S took home a bronze with a score of 26.08. You could see the dissapointment on Dale's face as he took home a silver, but Alex was glowing. This is the only gold ever won by a canadian inside Canada's borders. This is tuly an amazing achievement for 22 year-old Aleandre Bilodeau.

More about him: He's friendly and sweet. He has friends and they're Peggy and Steve. His friends invited him to the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and wanted him to join. Chubby Mint joined the Olympics
and is now preparing. He's competing in snowboarding. I hope he will win!
Situations to avoid: When he's eating, please don't disturb him or he will get mad and bad things will happen!
Reason I chose Chubby Mint to be my own mascot: I thought of
winter animals and the first thing that came to my mind is the polar bear. I put a scarf and a hat with the Olympic rings so he wont be cold and a medal to represent that everyone is a winner.
Naming him: I chose the name 'Chubby Mint' because Steve wanted him to be 'chubby' and Peggy wants him to be 'mint' so I thought of putting 'chubby' and 'mint' together.
