After 17 fantastic days of the top athletic competitions, Canada says goodbye to the winter athletes in the closing ceremony of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic games. This ceremony was so beautiful, there were people in white and other sprouting colors that made flags when the camera zoomed out. It showed all the wonderful flags of all the countries that were in the Olympics. Also the lights were beautiful making it look real when they projected the water on the ground. One of the athletes that carried the Olympic 2010 torch was Steve Nash. Steve Nash is a NBA player thats plays for the Phoenix Suns.

Wink Did you know? That the Olympic founder was Pierre De Coubertin. He saw 5 interlocking rings on an emblem while he was in Greece and he thought it would make a fantastic symbol for the Olympics. They chose the five rings because they wanted to represent the five continents, interlocking in friendship. They chose blue, black, red, yellow, and green. They were chosen because at least one of these colours is in every continents flagWink

The video was really awesome, this inspired me to maybe be in the Olympics when I'm older. I thought it was really cool when one of the torch carriers swam under water with the torch. I was inspired when I saw that because I love to swim.

Their expressions on their faces showed they were happy and excited to be carrying the Olympic Torch. Even some kids were lucky enough to carry the Olympic Torch. This must have been a great experience for the people carrying the flame and the the people who are running with them. Also for the people watching. I like the ending of the video when they show all the mountains and the sun set just going down, that was so beautiful!Cool

I chose the Inukshuk design because I like the way it looks and I love to make things. I thought night time would be a good backround because it's beautiful and you can see the stars shining. The mittens on the Inukshuk represent the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. I chose this item because he is a really big fan of the Olympics and he wanted to show share his spirit with everone.
